Compact Licenses May Be Affected as of March 28, 2026
If you are licensed as a physician and surgeon through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLCC) and your State of Principal Licensure (SPL) is Michigan, please take note of the following:
Michigan’s law authorizing participation in the Compact is currently scheduled to expire on March 28, 2026. Although there are ongoing efforts to extend this legislation, if it is not renewed by that date, any Illinois licenses issued through the IMLCC with Michigan as the SPL will no longer be eligible for renewal.
For additional details, including instructions on how to change your SPL, please visit the IMLCC website: https://imlcc.com/
