DEA Registration Renewal Reminder

A reminder to all licensed medical professionals who have a DEA registration that needs to be renewed. On December 29, 2022, the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 enacted a new one-time, eight-hour training requirement for all Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)-registered practitioners on the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders.

Beginning on June 27, 2023, practitioners are required to check a box on their online DEA registration form–regardless of whether a registrant is completing their initial registration application or renewing their registration.

Crick Walanka Law Group is ready to help you with your DEA registration renewal or any other application renewal related to your practice. These renewals have many questions that can be confusing at first glance. If you have any questions at all, do not take the risk of filling out these forms incorrectly when the consequences could impact a medical professional’s ability to practice or otherwise impact their professional license.
